The goal of this project was to produce a "design to sell" product. I created Pill Holder Earrings to combine statement and convenience. My intended audience are people who enjoy wearing jewelry as well as need or want to take pills. The box is also reversible and turns into an earring stand.
Process 1: I started out by deciding what would hold the pills, creating sketches of possible designs with different materials. At the same time I considered how the material and audience would fit into the brand, sketching out what the box and brand would look like.
Process 2: For prototyping I started out by creating felt pocket earrings, but found that this did not fit my vision for the brand. I then decided on pill capsules, which emphasized the pill and inspired the minimalistic direction of the branding.
Process 3: I also prototyped the box, I tried several standard jewelry packaging, but found that the box stand design added an extra layer to the product.
